General Information:

State Route 6 is a feeder road to the tourist areas around the West MacDonnell Ranges, west of Alice Springs, it also services several small communities.

History:

• 2005: 27 kilometre upgrade Larapinta Drive near Owen Springs, to widen the seal from 4m to a two-lane standard of 7m 1
• 2006: Installation of a pedestrian-activated crossing near the Blain Street intersection on Larapinta Drive in Alice Springs. 1
