General Information:

State Route 60 is the former Bruce Highway alignment between Beerburrum and Burpengary.

The route varies from rural highway standard to multi-laned divided suburban arterial road standard and caters to local traffic, leaving the Bruce Hwy (M1) for through traffic.

SR60 passes through residential, commercial, industrial, semi-rural and bushland areas.

Multiplexes along the route include:

• Tourist Drive 27 for 14 km, between Caboolture and Beerburrum
  

History:

• September 2009: Renaming of the Six Mile Creek Bridge on Beerburrum Road at Elimbah to Hammond Bridge. The Hammond family were an important family of the area.2
  
• 4 July 2011: Work commences on the construction of a new bridge over Six Mile Creek along Beerburrum Road at Elimbah.3
  
• 15 December 2011: Work begins on duplicating more than four kilometres of Morayfield Road to four lanes between the Bruce Highway and Gaffield Street. Other work includes Constructing a service road between Gleeson Road and Paradise Road, and installing new traffic signals at both intersections. Plus the upgrading of the Graham Road and Lindsay Road intersections and the provision new pedestrian and cyclist paths.4
