This section endeavours to cover as many declared routes in Australia as possible, with information on each route, historical details and photos along each route.

Route Numbering is designed to aid motorists navigate, using route shields as guidance, this site generally covers only numbered routes. The system is in 2 parts, the original heirarchical system for route marking, generally speaking National Highways and National Routes plus State Routes and Tourist Drives.

Some states have or will be converting to the alpha-numeric style of route marking, this has already been done in parts of Victoria and Queensland, plus across SA and Tasmania.
