National Route 1 (John Renshaw Drive)
John Renshaw Drive is part of the 4 km connector route from the northern end of the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway at Beresfield, which joins the freeway to the Pacific Highway at Hexham. The section of NR1 between Beresfield is covered by John Renshaw Drive and also the New England Highway.
The NR1 section of John Renshaw Drive (it's SR132 west of the Weakleys Drive roundabout) is all 4 lanes wide, designed as an arterial grade road and features a service centre on the Brisbane / Newcastle bound side of the road.
