National Route 1 (Former Alignment: Pacific Highway) (Nambucca Heads)

The Pacific Highway starts at the junction of the Warringah Freeway and the Bradfield Highway (Sydney Harbour Bridge), before heading North via several Northern suburbs then runs along side the F3 Freeway before heading through Gosford then onto Newcastle and at Hexham before traversing the coast via an inland route to Queensland at Tugun where it becomes the Pacific Motorway, before it terminates at the Riverside Expressway in Brisbane.

This page focuses on the former alignment at Nambucca Heads area which is roughly the half way point between Sydney and Brisbane. The Bellwood Deviation helped bypass Nambucca Heads, opening to traffic back in 1980.
