State Route 123 (Newcastle Inner City By-Pass)

The RTA's internal classification for the Newcastle Inner City By-Pass is State Highway 23 and it runs from Pacific Highway & Wallsend Rd, Sandgate in the North and Pacific Hwy & West Charlestown Bypass & Lake St, Bennetts Green in the South.

The road is a collection of arterial and expressway grade roads strung together to create the route and provides a viable alternative to travelling through Newcastle's inner suburbs.
