State Route 40 (Windsor to Parramatta)

State Route 40 is located Sydney and Lithgow. The route is formed by several routes. It duplexes with state route 21 from Drummoyne to Huntleys Point (over Gladesville Bridge), and also Metroad 2 from Kellyville to Windsor.

It's interesting to note that both the Western Distributor and Gladesville Bridge (and the associated Burns Bay Road (SR21)) were to form part of the F3 Freeway from Sydney to the Hunter Region of NSW.

The route's eastern terminus is the Western Distributor at Darling Harbour and to the west, it's terminus is the corner of the Great Western Highway (NR32) & Main Street in Lithgow.

Roads taken in by SR40 include the Western Distributor, Anzac Bridge, Victoria Road, Church Street, Windsor Road, Bridge Street, Macquarie Street, Richmond Road, Windsor Street, East Market Street, March Street, Kurrajong Road, Bells Line of Road, Chifley Road, Mort Street, Lithgow Street and Main Street.

Some of the towns and suburbs through which SR40 passes through include Darling Harbour, Drummoyne, Gladesville, Ryde, Parramatta, Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Windsor, Richmond, Kurrajong, Bell and Lithgow.

For a more extensive look at SR40, which is duplexed with Metroad 2, click here for Metroad 2.
