Pacific Motorway (M1) (Eight Mile Plains to Beenleigh)
The Pacific Motorway runs from Tugun (corner of Gold
Coast Highway and Pacific Highway) to the Riverside
Expressway in Brisbane and is known as M1 and Metroad
3.
The South East Freeway is a former name for the section
of the Pacific Motorway between the Brisbane CBD and
Springwood. Construction from the Captain Cook Bridge
to Mount Gravatt was completed in the early 1980s, with
massive upgrades on several sections in the late 90s.
The motorway features eight traffic lanes with a 110
km/h speed limit between the Logan Motorway and the
Smith Street Motorway interchange and generally six
or four lanes at 100 km/h on other sections. The motorway
passes through the major tourist region of the Gold
Coast, the destination for most of the vehicular traffic
from Brisbane.

bunch of old recently coverplated old black signs.
March 2006. It's somewhat weird seeing signs such
as these still being updated, when technically they
are obselete due to their colouring.
