Metroad 3: Pacific Motorway: Old F3 Signage
Around the southern inner suburbs of Brisbane, you
can find some excellent condition signage remnants from
when the South East Freeway (former Pacific Motorway
name) was put through from the Brisbane CBD to the southern
suburbs in the 1980s, connecting with the Pacific Highway.
Back in the 1980s, before the introduction of Metroads,
etc, the freeway was numbed as the F3, and in 2006 in
the Greenslopes, Mount Gravatt area (and nearby suburbs),
several old F3 signs still exist, several of which are
coverplated with Metroad 3 numbering, but many still
in their original form.
A big thank you to Trent Thomson for alerting me to
these old signs and also a big thank you to Michael
Greenslade who was kind enough to drive me to the spots
so I didn't spend hours trying to find them myself! |

Another old coverplated sign, F3 is likely
to be under the Metroad 3 sheild, but next to that is
another coverplate, probably covering a National Route
