Metroad 4: Logan & Gateway Motorways

This page covers the Metroad 4 section of the Logan Motorway from Drewvale to Gailes. For the Metroad 6 section, click here. This page also covers the Gateway Motorway from Eight Mile Plains to Drewvale, for the M1 continuation, click here.

The Logan Motorway offers motorists a quick line between Ipswich and the M1 or Pacific Motorway at Loganholme, and the Gateway Motorway, providing access to the Gold Coast and to the rural areas of the Darling Downs to the west.

The Motorway is four lanes (2 in each direction), and there is 3 toll plazas on the Metroad 4 section: Stapylton Road and Loganlea Road on the Logan Motorway and at Kuraby on the Gateway Extension.

The Gateway Extension from Eight Mile Plains to Drewvale became a national highway (along with the M1 section and the remainder of Metroad 4 from Drewvale to Gailes) in 1994 with the Federal Government responsible for funding capital improvements and maintenance works.
