National Route 1 (Pacific Highway)

The Pacific Highway in Queensland is quite short and is not to be confused with the Pacific Motorway. The Pacific Highway began its life back in the 1930s and included what is now the Gold Coast Highway.

The Pacific Highway in Queensland starts at the border with New South Wales at Coolangatta. At Tugun with the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway it connects with the Pacific Motorway, which travels to Brisbane.

Click here for the former alignment of the highway through Coolangatta.
