State Route 3: Isis Highway

State Route 3 is a connection route, which joins the towns of Bundaberg, Kolan South, Maroondan and other small towns and villages off the highway itself to the Bruce Highway (NH-A1). The southern terminus is at the interchange, which opened early 2006, which joins SR3 to NH-A1 at Apple Tree Creek. The northern terminus is the corner of the Bruce Highway and Mulgrave Street at Gin Gin.

The other section of the Isis Highway is numbered SR52 and connects the North Burnett region to the sugar producing Bundaberg and Fraser Coast region. Starting at the Ban Ban Springs roadhouse on the Burnett Highway, the Isis Highway heads north-west as State Route 52, passing through Biggenden before reaching Childers. The highway continues north-west from Childers, joining the Bruce Hwy for 5km before heading across sugar cane fields to Bundaberg.
