ALT-NR1 (Princes Highway, Kings Way, Queens Road, Dandenong Road)

Princes Highway through Melbourne forms part of the former National Route 1.

Back in the late 1980s, the South Eastern and West Gate Freeways were given the National Route 1 sheild, with the Princes Highway renumbered to ALT NR-1.

Western Terminus: Corner of Kings Way and West Gate Freeway (M1) in South Melbourne. Eastern Terminus: Interchange with Monash Fwy (M1) / Beaconsfield - Berwick Main Road (C101) (also Princes Hwy) at Narre Warren.
