Victoria Road Photo Gallery:
C412 (Burwood Highway, Belgrave-Gembrook Road & Main Street)

Located in Melbourne's eastern reaches, C412 is a continuation of MR26, which was once state route 26 in its entirety. When Alphanumeric routes were introduced into Victoria, they were only in country areas, as its alleged there was not enough funding to fully implement them in the metropolitain area.

The route starts off at the intersection with the Burwood Highway and Mount Dandenong Tourist Road at Upper Ferntree Gully, it continues as Burwood Highway (Monbulk Road) through Upwey, Tecoma and upon reaching Belgrave the route's name changes to Main Street, before it branches off over the railway line (duplexing with C404) to become Belgrave-Gembrook Road which travels through Selby, Menzies Creek, Emerald, and Avonsleigh. At this point the route duplexes with C411 through Cockatoo (past the junction with the red give way sign (see rare signs in the Sign Photo Gallery), once leaving Cockatoo and the C411 duplex, the route continues on through to the junction of Main Street, Gembrook-Launching Place Road (C424), Gembrook Road (C424) and Beenak East Road at Gembrook.
