M80 (Western Ring Road & Metropolitain Ring Road)

The Western Ring Road starts at the terminus of the Princes & Westgate Freeways at Laverton North in Melbourne's outer western suburbs. Its interchange with these roads feature Australia's tallest light masts at 45 metres, and according to the Melway street directory, the interchange bridges laid end to end measure 500 metres with 6 kilometres of guard rail and 10 kilometres of kerb and channel.

The Western Ring Road is freeway standard and passes through Sunshine West & North, Cairnlea (where it picks up National Highway status courtesy of the Western Highway NH M8 connection), Keilor East (where it connects to the Calder Freeway (M79), Tullamarine (it connects with MR 43 the Tullamarine Freeway), Glenroy and Cambellfield. It terminates at the Hume Freeway (NH-M31) at Thomastown in Melbourne's north, and also the Metropolitain Ring Road (continuing as M80).
