MR40 (Laverton North to Edithvale)

Metropolitain Route 40 takes in a number of significantly major roads in the Melbourne metropolitain area. These roads include Keilor-Laverton Road, Calder Freeway, Tullamarine Freeway, Bell Street, Manningham Road, Doncaster Road, Mitcham Road and Springvale Road.

Introduced in the 1960s, MR40's western terminus is at Kororoit Creek Rd, Laverton North and the route's eastern terminus is located at Nepean Hwy, Edithvale. Suburbs along the route include Keilor Park, Aiport West, Essendon North, Strathmore, Coburg, Preston, Heidelberg, Bulleen, Doncaster, Donvale, Nunawading, Forest Hill, Burwood East, Glen Waverley, Mulgrave, Springvale, Keysborough, Braeside and Edithvale.
