MR43 (Tullamarine Fwy) Former Alignment / Remnants

MR43 was introduced in the 60s and has undergone many route changes over the years.

Tullamarine Freeway is one of the oldest freeways in Melbourne. It was originally constructed in 1968-1970 to alleviate traffic on Mount Alexander Road and also Keilor Road as part of Calder Highway upgrade, and to link the city with Tullamarine) Airport. The section around Essendon Airport started off as just an arterial road named Lancefield Road, and was eventually converted to freeway standard.

This page looks at old F-series signage and old infrastructure no longer in use but was once part of the Tullamarine Freeway.
