Victoria Road Photo Gallery:
Metropolitain Route 55
(Montague Street, Wurundjeri Way, Peel Street, Royal
Parade, Sydney Road, and Hume Highway)
Formerly National Highway 31 until the opening of the Craigieburn By-pass in December 2004, Metropolitain Route 55, starts at the M1 interchange
on Montague Street (VicRoads Internal Number 6120) in
South Melbourne, crossing the Yarra River on Charles
Grimes Bridge, then Docklands using Wurundjeri Way (VicRoads
Internal Number 6120), turning right at Dudley Streett
(VicRoads Internal Number 5040), then left at Peel Street
at Victoria Market, crossing Victoria Street, through
the roundabout at Flemington Road, Royal Parade and
Peel Street, continuing north via Royal Paradet (VicRoads
Internal Number 5979), through the suburbs of Brunswick
and Coburg along Sydney Roadt (VicRoads Internal Number
5733). The route (known as Hume Highway (VicRoads Internal
Number 6550)) then joins NH-M31 once it has crossed
the Metropolitain Ring Road (NH-M80).
Please note the photos shown below were taken before the signage was changed to the new route number.
