Victoria Road Photo Gallery:
MR83 (Brooklyn to Nunawading)

Introduced in the late 1980s, Metropolitain Route 83 is only a short one, but nonetheless serves quite a substantial part of Melbourne.

The route's western terminus is at the junction with the Westgate Fwy at Brooklyn and its eastern terminus is located at Springvale Road in Nunawading. Roads along the route include Princes Hwy (Geelong Road), Elliot Av, Macarthur Road, Cemetary Road, College Crescent, Princes St, Eastern Hwy and the Eastern Fwy.

Road standards vary from arterial to motorway standards and cover suburbs such as Brooklyn, Footscray, Kensington, Carlton, Fitzroy, Balwyn North, Doncaster, Box Hill North, Blackburn North and Nunawading.

As at April 2007, the route is currently being extended to take in the Eastlink motorway, designed to continue on from Nunawading to the Frankston area. Click here for Eastlink construction photos.

Very old black AD sign as you on Anderson Road. The MR83 coverplate hides an old NR1 sheild, and also note the dodgy amended of the sign with addition of 'To'. July 2006.
