Taken in Nana Glen near Coffs Harbour, this is an unusual warning sign that you'd never expect to see.

Give Way Sign Ahead
This sign was erected in 2002, many years after textual give way ahead signs were phased out. It's different to the original version which has all the words on a separate line. Taken on Nundle Road at Bowling Alley Point, about 40 minutes from Tamworth in north-western NSW.

A custom sign from Victoria, this sign warns the approaching intersection is a main road.

Curved Intersection Sign
Custom sign which is deceptive. The curve is actually a sharp right angle bend as the junction is a former cross road in which the road to teh left has been closed to traffic due to a bridge out. Even from here, the curve looks much gentler than it is.

From a country road in Victoria, this a custom made sign that tries to depict an upcoming turn in the road.

S-Lanes Sign
Exclusive to Sydney, these signs and road layouts came about in the late 1980s. Turning lanes were added to several arterial roads in Sydney by reducing 3 lanes to 2 at intersections. The sign is used to warn that the left lane ends and that there is an opportunity to turn right in relative safety.

New School Zone Sign Under Test
In NSW the RTA are testing various devices for warning drivers of an approaching school zone, this is one of the ones they are trialling. Image taken December 2004 on the New England Highway (NH15) at Muswellbrook.
