Restricted Access Sign
Not always a common sight in NSW, this was found in old "Freeway Green" colours between Armidale and Uralla NSW on the New England Highway (NH 15).

Found April 2005 in a Tamworth car park, this sign is a very good condition of a 1960s no entry sign.

Old No Right Turn Sign
This old 1960s sign is on the corner of Ivy Street and Maitland Road Islington in the Newcastle area, about 2 hours north of Sydney. Sign still in use in 2005.

No Through Traffic Sign
Found on Bedford & Chalmers Street Surry Hills NSW, this is an alternative to the No Through Road signs we usually see. Taken Easter 2004.

Old One Way Sign
Found near Central Railway Station in Sydney, this is an original design from when this version was first adopted in NSW in the 60's. Note the unusual olde style arrow, similar to those used on old black pre-metric directional signs. Taken Easter 2004.

Old Keep Left Sign
Before the current Keep Left design we had a straight arrow, and before that, this design - found on North Rocks Road North Parramatta NSW. Taken April 2004.

Vintage 1960s Pedestrian Crossing Sign
So rare it should be in a museum, this sign was found August '04 in suburban Brisbane on the Pacific Motorway (Metroad 3), Marshall Road (State Route 11) and Bapaume Road (State Route 10) intersections at Tarragindi. This sign would date back to the 1960s at least. Note the old AWA signal and cast iron pedestrian button on the signal.

Old Victorian roadsign, these were made obselete by the standard Keep Left sign.

Old All Traffic Sign
Still in use in late 2003, this very old All Traffic sign is found on South Terrace, Bankstown in Sydney.

Ambiguously situated DO NOT ENTER sign from Geelong. These style signs are precursors to the current pictogram sign.

Old Keep Left Sign
This sign is older than the intersection it's placed on. The sign style dates back to the 1960s, however the intersection with the Hume Highway was constructed in the very late 70s or early 80s. You'll find the sign in Wilton on the corner of Picton Road (NSW State Route 88) eastbound approaching the Hume Highway (F5 / NH31) interchange.

Seat Belts Must Be Fastened Sign
Found in a car park on Anzac Parade in Maroubra, this sign was once common (from the 1970s) and is used to remind drivers to buckle up. Installed by the NSW DMT (Department of Motor Transport, now part of the Roads & Traffic Authority).

Halt Sign with Button Copy
Located on the wall of the Inverell Motor Museum in northwestern NSW, this old sign was used in the 40s and 50s before the use of Stop signs. Note the glass beads that make the text reflective, this is called button copy and was used to make a sign visible at night when headlights shone upon it.
